Folio Society Limited Edition The Four Gospels Eric Gill 2007 Fine Brand New. This book is a facsimile of the 1931 Golden Cockerel Press edition of the first four books of the New Testament that was decorated by Eric Gill. The 256 page facsimile volume is bound in sensuous full black Nigerian goatskin by G. Lachenmaier with gilt decorations on cover and spine. The Fabriano Tiziano endleaves are mid-grey.

All page edges gilt and there is a black satin ribbon marker. There is a 27 page companion volume of essays by John Dreyfus on the Golden Cockerel Press and its type styles, and Robert Gibbings with personal reminiscences about the Eric Gill.

It is quarter bound in black buckram with grey paper sides and a cover title label. The black cloth solander box has gilt titling on the spine, and is 36.5x26.2x7.5cm. Hand numbered limited edition of 2750 copies. Immaculate condition: fine book, fine commentary volume, fine solander box.
